For the Pear Filling:
- 4 ripe pears, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Crumble Topping:
- 1 cup rolled oats
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish.
- Prepare the pears: In a large bowl, mix pears with brown sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla. Spread them evenly in the baking dish.
- Make the crumble topping: In another bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Stir in melted butter until the mixture becomes crumbly.
- Assemble & bake: Sprinkle the oat mixture over the pears. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
- Add chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts) for extra crunch.
- Use gluten-free oats and flour to make it GF-friendly.
